Summary: Great book and great drumming CD
Comment: As the title suggests, this is a fantastic beginners guide to journeying. This accessible book will get readers started with the exciting practice of shamanic journeying. It is well written with easy to follow instructions.
Shamanic Journeying comes with a drumming CD to use while journeying. This CD has three tracks and is a great collection to use at home. Track one is 10 min. long and begins with the shaking sounds of a rattle. 20 seconds in there are several whistles. This is followed by a single drumming performance with no other sound effects which starts 42 seconds into the track. The introduction is interesting for those who have only used drumming tracks without any other sound additions. The bulk of the track is a steady, single drum beat. The track ends with pauses in the beat followed by a fast tempo drum beat, signaling the time to return from your journey. Silence at the end of the track ensures the end of your journey is not immediately interrupted by the following drumming track. This silence between tracks is a nice and thoughtful touch to the production. Track two is a 20 minute double drumming track (two drums going at the same time to the same beat), and track three is a 30 minute single drumming track.
This a great CD and written text collection and is all you need to get started journeying now. Ingerman makes you feel very comfortable trying the practice. I highly recommend the book for its ease of use and well produced drumming CD.

Well, have you checked the Amazon.Com website to see whether or not I have followed through? Well I have, and after one vendor other that yourself calling me on a review that somehow, didn't wind up as stellar as they had wished, and me spending an entire DAY trying and FAILING TO REVISE WHAT MUST HAVE BEEN A TYPO AND GETTING NOWHERE, BECAUSE THE SITE DOESN'T ALLOW FOR REVISION, ONLY REMOVAL OF COMMENTS, I THOUGHT I WAS AT A CONCLUSION, BECAUSE I HAD DONE EVERYTHING ELSE, FOR ALL THE MARKET PURCHASES THAT I HAD DONE THAT VERY DAY! Summary: Very nice overview of Shamanism.
Comment: While this book does not go into depth about the ins and outs of Shamanism, it will give the reader a well written idea of what it is. One can easily start practicing some of the techniques given within this 85 page book. I read this in about 3 hours, including time to sit quietly and reflect on the information given. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and enjoyed the included CD as well.
I held back one star due to some redundant parts. I am waiting to read that "blow me away" book on Shamanism before I give a 5 star review, but that's just me.
This was a worthwhile purchase you should add to your library.

Comment: This book comes with a drumming CD which facilitates the shamanic meditative state. It is a good introduction to shamanism. I am a full mesa carrying shaman. I have not read the whole book yet but still can see its value from the information presented in a easy comprehensive form.
