Summary: HHmmm...
Comment: This one was bit shaky for me. I loved the hit single, You're Not Alone. The rest of the album did not have the harmony of a theme to it for me. I did say, "for me". An album can be constructed in an unconventional form, but what person wants to be led to Six Flags to watch a ballet. Do youu get it?--Or not get it? Exactly. That hit single, does make this a must have; hence I have it. LOL!

Summary: Ruth ann is a cut above the rest
Comment: If you like Trance, New Age, Electronica or Trip Hop. You'd be stupid not to buy this! You can also catch the lead singer Ruth Ann Boyle on Enigma's Mask and Mirror CD. She just released a solo debut album exclusively sold on itunes as well. Give good talent your support. Buy it!

Comment: Olive is one of those bands who should be more widely known than they are. I purchased this album last year, and it's a perfect album to listen to if you're stressed out and want to chill and read a book or something. I find myself never getting bored of listening to Ruth-Ann's cool voice. This is one of the best trip-hop albums out there. The lyrics are simple but with simplicity there is a lot to say. I like all their songs but my two favorites would be "MIRACLE" and "YOU ARE NOTHING".

Comment: Take a little "Sade" a bit of "Morcheeba" some "Spicehouse" and a dash of "Frou Frou" mix it up and out comes "Olive". This is a great CD. Lots of soul and good songs, and a nice voice to top it off. This is a great collection of trip hop. "Trickle" is great too, but i'd check out this album first, the best song on this album is undoubtedly "Miracle".This a very talented group. Very instrumental, and very hypnotic, this album is great for anyone who likes relaxing music.

There are all the standard trip-hop ingredients--two guys who could probably stand to get out of the studio a little more often, lots of keyboards, drum machines, and samples. And there's a female singer, who's been compared to Sade--rather unfairly, since Ruth-Ann can manage more than a monotone and still be sultry. But there's also guitar and--wait for it--real strings. And, um, songs. Granted, they're not your conventional verse-chorus-verse, but like an insect bite, they get under your skin until you're scratching away and can't ignore them. --Chris Nickson
