Summary: An excellent piece of natural music.
Comment: I got the casette version of "Deep Woods, Deep Waters" during a family trip in August, 1998. We were at a gift shop in Yellowstone National Park, and "Deep Woods, Deep Waters" just seemed to catch our attention. We immediately purchased it, and as soon as we got back to our rented car, we listened to it.
The music was absolutely beautiful. The instruments seemed to perfectly math the natural sounds. It was worth listening to again and again. Although this is Douglas Wood's only known album, it is a very good one at that. I always listened to it at night, as well as on the way to middle school and back.
Sadly, after a short time, my casette ceased to work, and I eventually lost my casette completely. I still hope to get the CD version one day.

Summary: Great Music, Great Mix
Comment: I really like every piece on the CD. The environmental elements of the CD are appropriately minimal, which I liked. I enjoy the variety sounds and tempos that the CD offers. I prefer to listen to most of my CDs in a jukebox to mix them up, but this one I enjoy all by itself repeatedly.

Track 9 sounds like a banjo, upbeat almost blue grass;
Track 10 guitar with piano, upbeat and folksy;
Track 11 accoustical guitar, contemplative.
When I bought it, I was hoping for something like Yanni. But its not really. Elements of it remind me of Windham Hill's Guitar Sampler and other's of George Winston yet the entire album is unlike either of those.

Summary: Musical excellence and serenity - What a combination!
Comment: Douglas Wood is a truly inspired writer; his music is always uplifting, never abrasive. I play this CD whenever I want to evoke a happy, reflective atmosphere. My favorite track: Star Flower (Shan's Song).
