Comment: The release of Planetary Chronicles, Vol. 1 marks the first availability of the library and commissioned works of Jonn Serrie. The five compositions are from his planetarium soundtracks. The original compositions were created on analog synths and two-track analog tape. Serrie added digital enhancements during the final mixing and mastering while preserving the original flavor and intent. The imagery is vivid and clear; the sound is crisp and austere. Deep listeners will be able to close their eyes and see the planetarium show. This is a great CD from the space musician's space musician.

Summary: Floating into the Universe
Comment: This is one of Jonn Serrie's CDs and having been a fan of his for so long i only got a chance to get it now (2007). I have most of his CD and this is no different from the rest of his releases....Flowing, relaxing, peace is what is felt everytime i listen to this CD. It just brings you to unknown dimention- just floating, flowing and gently fly......

Summary: Space/ambient dreams.
Comment: I love Serrie's work - have been a fan since highschool. There is simply no better space/ambient music out there. I've used his cds in my yoga and pilates classes as well as a mental nightcap. If you have trouble sleeping, mediating, and/or winding down at the end of the day, Serrie may be your answer.
His work is surreal without being airy-fairy new-agey. It's dark and definitely more ambient. All the men I've introduced to Serrie's music love it.

Summary: Musings in Deep Space
Comment: There are already several reviews for
Jonn Serrie's various releases. The
Planetary Chronicles CDs offer Serrie's
sumptuous sense of deep space music and
is reckoned by many to be his strong
suite. Without being too 'dark' there
is a sense of adventure and just enough
of an edge to delight the ear upon repeated
listening. The fact that Jonn's work can be
listened to again and again is partly responsible
for the enduring fan base he has created for
himself.
