Customer reviews of Celtic Lounge, Vol. 2
|
Customer Rating: Summary: Disappointing - poor guitar work Comment: I am extremely disappointed in this cd. How anyone could state that this is celtic music - even modern celtic music is way off the beam. This is nothing more than ordinary New Age music. Whilst some of the singers have haunting sounds, Sharon Knight is not one of them. I think she should not have been included on this album as her song is more in the pop genre without being anything to write home about. The guitar work by Steve Gordon is sloppy with irritating screeching sounds of his finger work, particularly on "The Secret Rose". This is annoying when you try to sit back and relax. If anyone wants beautiful relaxing music, I recently found Diane Arkenstone's CD "Aquaria" after surfing on Amazon.
Customer Rating: Summary: Just as wonderful... Comment: Masterfull and thrilling. Just as with the first The Celtic Lounge, you will be swept away!
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Celtic music Comment: I love this album, actually a lot of the artists are familiar to me (I think I've even met Steve Gordon). The acoustic instruments are refreshing and remind you that you are listening to actual musicians. It has a gentle rocking rhythm that soothes and relaxes and entertains. he voices are so beautiful - Tina Malia - what a rising star! AND she's from my hometown!! I'd like to shake her hand and encourage Celtic Lounges galore.
Customer Rating: Summary: Absolutely enchanting - Even better than the first! Comment: As much as I love the first Celtic Lounge, I like this one even more. It has a gorgeous selection of songs by all my favorite Celtic artists from the first one plus some new ones like Tina Malia who has one of the finest voices I have ever heard. If you love artists like Enya and Loreena McKennett, the Celtic Lounge series is a great way to discover more great artists and songs in this style. I highly recommend this CD!
Customer Rating: Summary: Another great release! Comment: After enjoying the first Celtic Lounge album I was so excited to see a second volume was released! This one is just as great as the first. It has a mix of some upbeat songs and a few sad songs, all true to the Celtic sounds. I would highly recommend these albums too: The Celtic Lounge, Garden of Dreams

Return to the place where Celtic Enchantment Meets Mystical Chill-out. - The ancient and the modern meet once again in this entrancing and deeply moving Celtic set mixed by the Gordon Brothers (Buddha-Lounge, Hotel Tara). Artists of the highest caliber both renown as well as rising stars come together on this gorgeous collection, such as Gary Stadler, Singh Kaur, Tina Malia, Stephannie, Achillea, Everstar, Sharon Knight, David & Steve Gordon, Stella Mara and Alquimia as they transport you to a magical place of myth and mystery. Instrumental and vocal pieces with haunting melodies and ethereal atmosphere transport you to a mystical land where standing stones are shrouded in fog upon emerald green hills as waves crash against tall cliffs and stony beaches. A mood of graceful beauty unfolds in this exquisite Celtic collection making it a wonderful companion and perfect choice for reading, working, falling asleep or quiet reflection and daydreaming. ENHANCED CD: Contains full length music video of "Song of the Sea" by Sharon Knight. "Ethereal bliss awaits anyone who pays a visit to Sequoia Groove's "Celtic Lounge," where tender beauty, chilled ambience and the spirit of the Celts intersect. Celtic Lounge II picks up where the hugely popular original left off, featuring another enchanting assortment of songs that includes groundbreaking artists like Tina Malia, Singh Kaur, Gary Stadler, Steve Gordon and Stella Mara. The album opens with the heart-warming, piano-led "Fairy Ring" from Stadler and Kaur, which starts the journey on a whimsical note. Don't expect to come down from this high anytime soon, as songs like Malia's vibrant "Lilac Blooms (Under the Rising Moon)," Achillea's "Land of the Elves" and Alquimia's bittersweet "The Lass of Glenshee" will keep you elated. Whether you're looking to relax with a book or sip a cocktail with friends at a dinner party - the atmosphere conjured by this album is sublime." - Music Design In Review
