Summary: Can't stop listening to this masterpiece
Comment: I bought this CD on a whim (you can't, as of yet preview the tracks on Amazon). I'm so glad I did, this Treasure has never stopped giving. I'll agree with one of the other reviews that it does have a bit of Patrick O'Hearn about it, but the synergy between Jon Jenkins and David Helpling is a Phenom. This album stands alone. Jon and David are now performing this piece live. [...]

Summary: Beautiful Dream
Comment: This is one of the most beautiful ambient recordings ever. It moves, soars, softens, and the themes stay with you. Wow.
What a refreshing change from canned synth disco dribble often associated with this genre.
This CD as a whole has composition, themes and varitations. Ive listened to it hundreds of times, and never tire of it. Its layered, deep, complex and deserves a careful listen with the lights out.
You cant go wrong with this one!

Summary: A "Treasure" to Behold!
Comment: It's nearly impossible to say the sheer beauty and spirit that is evident during every single second of David Helpling's third and LONG overdue third release "Treasure". After the Patrick O'Hearn-esque debut "Between Green and Blue" which borrowed heavily from Patrick's 1980s sounds, and then the misty beauty of "Sleeping on the Edge of The World" which I view as the spiritual sequel to O'Hearn's "Indigo" album, Helplings third album "Treasure" is a major departure from even that album and has a far eerier David has developed a style all of his own. The opening track "Grand Collision" could be a carry on from his sophomore album but as the track plays on, it is evident that this album has a very different undertone throughout with almost none of the O'Hearn-esque sounds being carried over from that one. In fact, I think "Treasure" has some more common ground with some of the works of Steve Roach such as the epic length spiritual "Not a Soul, Not a Sound" and the tracks "Frozen Channel/Now More Than Ever" which are hauntingly gorgeous from start to finish actually are reminiscent of the sounds of Michael Danna's "Sirens" CD from eons back. "This Day Forward" begins with an austerely eerie intro before unfolding into a beautiful song.

Summary: Glad I Bought It
Comment: I'm really enjoying this album, and would recommend this to all who enjoy New Age. If you like Michael Stearns and/or Between Interval, this should be very appealing to you. I'm likely to buy more of Helpling.

Summary: It is a treasure
Comment: Well since I like both Jon Jenkins and David Helping I had to check this one out. I'm listening to it now, and again it blows me away. It is both beautiful and intense while the music washes over mind and body. It's a musical spa. Sometimes I feel like I'm being surrounded and washed over by water. If you like either one of these two artists you MUST get this one. I have played it a lower volume for yoga but at higher volume you can enjoy the subtle nuances of the music. It's good.

Editorial Reviews:

"Full of exceptionally deep and cinematic moments, layers of smeared guitar textures, sneaky ear candy, and epic rhythmic percussion." -- AmbientVisions.com

A powerhouse collaboration from two of Spotted Peccary's most popular and best-selling artists--well respected musicians who are often mentioned in the same breath as Brian Eno, Patrick O'Hearn, and Tangerine Dream. Jon Jenkins' last release, Beyond City Light, was an Amazon.com Best of 2005 Top 10 selection. Previous solo releases by both artists have charted at #1 on NAV/NAR Top 100 charts, and been designated as a Billboard Critic's Choice.
