Summary: Good Information Bad DVD
Comment: This is one of those DVD's that for some reason will not play on many DVD players. It completely failed to load on my Sony, Loaded and then continually stalled on my Dell XPS laptop and finally played on cheap Phillips player. I suspect that the main problem is the intro which combines an ad for a childrens group with a kind of slide show of his other work. I will comment further on this item after I have had a chance to listen to the CD. For now please keep your reciept handy if you get this DVD. Mine could be defective but I have had this problem with other DVD's and normally it affects all of them.
Here is more. This DVD/CD is not really new work. The DVD is a good lecture by Deepak on quantum medicine that stresses the basic mind body connection. If you have read his work on this topic you won't learn anything new here but it is a nice concise review of his ideas about medicine. He looks much younger in this film and It was obviously done a few years ago at his California institute. The CD is also not new. It is a compilation from many of his guided meditations accompanied by music. This is NOT something that Deepak has ever done well. He is a great speaker who injects a lot of humor and warmth into his work, but doing a voice over with music in the background just doesn't work. Some of his meditations even appear on ITUNES on a playlist called "The worst of New Age". Deepak needs to hire a professional to do the voice for his meditations, and stick to speaking which he does well. I don't think I'll listen to the CD again. All in all this product is a better buy for someone who doesn't own anything by him on DVD. I would also suggest it to someome who is ill and wants to support their healing. It is inspirational...if you can get it to play.
